But then you put on a pair of headphones… and BOOM 💥 — it’s like you’re at a live stadium gig with the sound of a full band crashing into your ears, perfectly mixed, gloriously crisp, and totally electric. That’s a silent band. That’s us.

Wait, what’s a silent band?

We’re so glad you asked. A silent band is exactly what it sounds like — a live band (hi 👋 that’s us, Funk City Band) playing without live drums, amps or monitors, streaming every glorious note directly into wireless silent disco headphones worn by your guests. There’s no on-stage noise, no sound bleed, no complaints from the neighbour who definitely wasn’t invited but still monitors decibel levels like a hawk.

It sounds bonkers, but it’s actually brilliant.

To the outside observer, it looks like a polite drinks reception. But to anyone wearing headphones? It’s a full-blown Wembley Stadium-style concert. We’re talking epic bass, pristine vocals, dancing like nobody’s watching (and maybe a few interpretive moves that should come with a warning label). and ITS so FUN!

How does it actually work?

We bring all the gear — digital mixing desks, top-tier silent disco headphones, the works. We set up just like a normal live band (with drums, bass, vocals, guitar, maybe even a horn section if you fancy), but everything goes into our silent audio rig. No amps. No monitors and using Electronic drums there’s just sweet, sweet digital love sent straight to your guests’ ears.

We can perform your first dance song live through the headphones, take requests, and deliver our usual high-energy show — complete with crowd interaction (yes, we still dance and jump and wave our hands — just like the silent disco pros we now are).

What does it feel like?

Honestly? Magical. You take the headphones off and it’s a calm, chatty garden party. You put them on and it’s like a Rocketship to funk town. It’s surreal in the best possible way.

Your guests can pop headphones on and off whenever they want, which means Auntie Joan can have a conversation AND a boogie without missing a beat. Literally.
