Can’t choose between having a band or a DJ?
Well now you don’t have too! As well as performing brilliant, upbeat live music we can play your favourite tunes as well until your party finishes for no extra cost!
We’ve got a huge professional PA system, lights and speakers and everything a professional DJ would bring. (It looks and sounds incredible) You can make your own playlists or we’ve got lots ready… AND We can take any requests.
In the lead up to your wedding or party we would suggest making a list of your favourite songs or artists. We can use our Free DJ service to help with the party. That way the music at the event that is tailored to you and your friends and is the ‘sound track to YOUR life’. The songs you love to dance like crazy to. It’s a much more personal approach. Plus we can edit them together to get the best, most kick ass selection of songs to make an amazing and memorable event. All included in the free DJ (sweet)
However if you don’t have time or you’re just not interested… leave it to us. We will make them amazing and keep it classic and funky.

Let’s be real: you want the party to keep going long after the band’s final note, right? You’ve got a full room, everyone’s buzzing, and the last thing you want is awkward silence after “Mr Brightside” blows the roof off. That’s where a free DJ comes in handy. And better yet… we include one. Yes, free. No extra charge. No surprise invoice. Just more tunes and more fun.
What Does “Free DJ” Actually Mean?
It means when you book Funk City Band for your wedding, corporate event, or party, we bring a full DJ setup with us. We’re talking decks, lights, speakers, the whole shebang. We’ll keep the music going before, in between, and after the band sets—so your dance floor never goes cold.
Some bands call this “playlist DJ” or “laptop DJ,” but we take it a step further. You can give us a playlist if you like, or leave it in our capable, musically-obsessed hands. Either way, we’ve got a real person mixing the tunes and reading the room. It’s not just “press play” on a Spotify list. (Although… if you REALLY want five hours of Spice Girls remixes, just say the word.)
Why Offer a DJ for Free?
Because we genuinely want your night to be amazing from start to finish. There’s nothing worse than building the perfect vibe… and then having it fall flat because the music stops. We believe every celebration deserves a proper ending. So whether you’re finishing with a big singalong, a slow dance, or a chaotic 90s rave, our free DJ will help you go out with a bang.
Can We Make Requests?
Absolutely. Got a “do not play” list? We’ll avoid it like the plague. Got a late-night anthem you must have at 11:57pm? Done. Want your mate Gavin to request seven drum & bass tracks in a row? Well… we’ll do our best to manage Gavin gently.
